Rodriguez degree controversy

Demanded Councilmember Rodriguez resign, saying falsifying credentials on government job applications is a federal offense and that he never took accountability.

Called Rodriguez a documented liar, referenced the Nick Inzunza residency episode, and demanded he resign and withdraw his mayoral candidacy.

Speaking in Spanish (with translation), asked why Rodriguez claimed an SDSU degree he never finished and what the city will do, saying public trust is falling and referencing her 2024 censure.

Said the issue isn't lacking a degree but misrepresenting one on official documents, and formally asked the council to censure Rodriguez, noting the council has used censure before.

Called the degree lie an integrity and competency issue and urged city leaders to take action rather than look the other way, warning of the precedent it sets for employees.
